Toadally Awesome Birthday

I'm a bit late posting this card, as Stephanie's birthday is in October. Between supply teaching and working at the hotel, I haven't had many days off.

I love the attitude of Kraftin' Kimmie's Lillith stamp. She's completely appropriate for my baby sister. Tee hee hee!!! Lillith is stamped with black Memento ink on Bella's best white paper and coloured with copics. I used Bo Bunny double dot cardstock and patterned paper from Echo Park's Happy Halloween line. The ribbon is Stampin' Up 1/8" Certainly Celery Tafetta Ribbon. My new favourite ribbon!!! Of course, I had to add a little sparkle with green Kaiser rhinestones.

I'm enjoying my day off and hope that you're having a wonderful day!!! :)

Stamps: Kraftin' Kimmie Lillith and sentiments (inside sentiment: "You're Toadally Awesome")

Stephanie's Fall Wedding Favours

My sister, Stephanie, loved the idea of using M&M's with a picture of herself and Chris for the wedding favours. My job was to create a favour appropriate for a fall wedding that displayed the M&M's!!! The M&M's actually also have the wedding date and just married printed on them.

I cut and embossed sawdust cardstock using the Spellbinders Nested Maple Leaves. Then I stamped each leaf using a wedding word stamp from Michael's and Stampin' Up Close to Cocoa ink. Next I coloured each leaf with Tim Holtz Distress Ink Wild Honey and Barn Door using an Inkessentials Ink Blending Tool. I edged each leaf with an Adirondack Gold acrylic paint dabber. Then I punched a 1 3/4" circle to add the Sweet Treat cups. Stephanie and I filled the cups with the M&M's. Finally, we backed the leaves using brown sparkly Scrapbook Sally cardstock and added a small label with the names and wedding date.

We're really happy with the end result, and we got a great reaction from the wedding guests!!! Although too many non-crafters thought that we just ordered them package in the leaves. LOL :)

The entire day was wonderful filled with love, laughter and joy. Stephanie was so beautiful and Chris so handsome. I was honoured to help in any way possible. It is day that I will always cherish. :)

Thinking of you

I made this card for a courageous friend who continues to battle lymphoma. I couldn't wait to use one of my new adorable hÄnglar & stÄnglar stamps. I'm entering this card in the OCC sketch challenge and used sketch OCCSC30. Also I'm entering this card in the grey and pink challenge at the lovely hÄnglar only challenge blog.

I can't believe that tomorrow is September 1. I'll soon be getting calls to supply teach. The summer has gone by so quickly! :)

Showered with Love

Stephanie's bridal shower was this past Sunday. She was showered with love and beautiful gifts. The preparations for the shower were made easier with the help of Donna and Amy, who both worked tirelessly.

This C.C. Designs bride stamp continues to be one of my favourite images. She's so adorable. I coloured her dress and veil with a clear Spica gel pen for just a subtle sparkle.

I hope that everybody is enjoying their last days of summer.
Caroline :)

Bridal Shower Invitation

Stephanie is both my sister and best friend, so it's been a pleasure to design and create invitations for her wedding. Stephanie's favourite colour is purple, and she wanted her bridal shower colour scheme to be different from the wedding.

I wanted the bridal shower invitation to complement the wedding invitation, so I used the same stamp set and font. I'm really pleased with this pretty invitation.
Caroline :)

Supplies Used:
Stamp: Stampin' Up Wedding Sweet
Paper: Core'dinations cardstock, Bazzill smooth white cardstock
Stampin' Up border punch, CTMH Petal ink, Michael's ribbon

Wedding Invitations

Stephanie's wedding is on October 2nd of this year. She has chosen fall colours as her colour scheme. So with the approaching date and the selected colours came the intimidating task of creating the wedding invitaion.

I wasn't sure how to design a wedding invitation. My first inspiration was the Stampin' Up Wedding Sweet stamp set. The Stampin' Up catalogue contained a sample invitation using this stamp set that I thought was really beautiful. Next we had to determine how to construct the card with a pocket. I searched You Tube and found this video by monkeysee.com. I modified the dimensions to create a 5x7 card. The Bazzill brown and sun coral cardstock were the perfect. However, the sawdust cardstock wasn't quite the right colour, so I sprayed the cardstock with iridescent gold glimmer mist. Eureka!!!

I absolutely love this final version of the wedding invitations.
Caroline :)

Stamps: Stampin' Up Wedding Sweet
Paper: Bazzill Brown and Sun Coral cardstock, Bazzill Smooth Sawdust cardstock

Here Comes the Bride

My sister, Stephanie, is getting married in October. Every couple of months a group of us rent the downstairs of a community centre and get together to scrapbook. We decided to surprise Stephanie with an 8x8 scrapbook album for her bridal shower pictures.

My job was to get Stephanie to leave around noon so that we could set up for her surprise. Luckily, Stephanie and I usually forget to bring something with us, so she wasn't suspicious that we forgot Stickles. She volunteered to go home and get them.

For the first page, I used the To Love and Cherish line from Imaginisce. I sprayed the paper with Tattered Angels Timeless Lilac glimmer mist. I used Bazzill cardstock for the photo mat and lettering. I cut out the lettering on my Cricut using the Storybook cartridge. The adorable bride is from C.C. Designs. I stamped her with Memento ink and coloured her with copics and her dress with a clear Spica gel pen to add a subtle sparkle. Finally, I added some lilac rhinestones.

For the two page layout, I used the Sophie line from Bo Bunny. The photo mats are from the same line and Bo Bunny double dot. I used Bo Bunny double dot ribbon. The sentiment and butterflies are from CTMH and are stamped with CTMH Twilight ink.

The album turned out beautifully and displays all of our different styles. All of the pages from the album are displayed on Donna's blog.

Truly, friends are the family that we choose for ourselves. :)

Birthday Fishes for Emma!!!

I had a wonderful Saturday scrapbooking with friends, a surprise bridal shower scrapbook gift for my sister (pictures to follow), my Goddaughter's birthday party and then more scrapbooking!!!

I made this card for Emma's 6th birthday. I was having a hard time designing a card for my Goddaughter's birthday. When my Summer Mermaid Kit from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps arrived on Friday, I finally found my inspiration. Unfortunately, I worked Friday night, so I had to wait until Saturday morning to start her card. I stamped the image with Memento ink and coloured her with copics. I added some sparkle with DecoArt Glamour Dust. The patterned paper is the new Bo Bunny Sun Kissed Chillin' paper that just arrived at DAT'S last week. Gotta love Bo Bunny! I would liked to have added a few more details to the card, but I ran out of time. Of course, Emma was more excited about the dinosaur Lego set that we gave her.

Hope that everybody is having a fabulous start to their summer! :)

Happy Birthday Mum!!!

I made this card for my Mum's 66th birthday. I used paper and brads from Basic Grey's Green at Heart. I love the vibrant colours of this line. The stamp is another swiss pixie from the C.C. Designs spring set. These stamps are so adorable.

At Scrapfest 2009, I attended a Basic Grey workshop where the instructor had us place strips of different patterned paper side by side. I decided to try this technique on a card and love the result. We probably won't attend Scrapfest this year because my sister is getting married in October, but we really want to go!!!

Stamps: C.C. Designs, sentiment is CTMH Kanji Phrases
Paper: Basic Grey Green at Heart, Bazzill cardstock, Bella white paper

Love Swiss Pixies!!!

I love this adorable stamp which I got with the Swiss Pixies Spring set by C.C. Designs!!! She is stamped on bella white paper and then cut out and paper pieced onto another piece of bella white paper that I sponged with summer sky Memento ink to look like clouds. The flower is sprayed with key lime pie glimmer mist and has green jewels in the centre. I took a Mother's Day card class at DAT'S, and Donna used pearls arranged similarly in the centre of her flower.

Hope that everyone had a Happy Mother's Day!!!
